A Possibility to combine three professions; lecturer – researcher – musician, in my work is a benefit. Contacts to musicians’ worklife provide important substance to my work as a teacher educator.
Direct contacts to the working life give me up-to-date information about what goes on in the field, an essential aspect of worklife-based education and research.
I have been fortunate to be able to combine teaching, learning and music in my research. I have over two decades’ experience as a musician and as a lecturer, which has continuously challenged me to rethink learning and teaching concepts. My feet are kept on the ground by researching, and my attitudes are being questioned.
I am still searching for new perspectives on professional issues. What is learning? How is it understood in vocational education? How can the motivation to learn be promoted? What is musicianship? How can it be developed in formal education?
