A Possibility of combining three professions, lecturer – researcher – musician, in my work is a benefit. Contacts to musicians’ work life are important to my work as a teacher educator.

Direct contacts to the working life give me up-to-date information about what goes on in the field, an essential aspect of worklife-based education and research.

I have been fortunate to combine teaching, learning and music in my research. I have over two decades of experience as a musician and lecturer, continuously challenging me to rethink learning and teaching concepts. However, my feet are kept on the ground by researching, and my attitudes are being questioned.

I am still searching for new perspectives on professional issues: How can the motivation to learn be promoted? What is good musicianship? How can it be developed in formal education?
