ABOUT ME

B E H I N D T H E D R U M S
The possibility of combining three professions, lecturer, researcher, and musician, in my work is a benefit. Contacts with musicians’ work life are important to my work as a teacher educator.
Direct contacts with the working life give me up-to-date information about what goes on in the field, an essential aspect of work-life-based education and research.
I have been fortunate to combine teaching, learning and music in my research. With over two decades of experience as a musician and lecturer, I am continuously challenged to rethink learning and teaching concepts. However, my feet remain on the ground through research, and my attitudes are being questioned.
I am still searching for new perspectives on professional issues: How can the motivation to learn be promoted? What is good musicianship? How can it be developed in formal education?
